Pointe Claire resides in a uninhabited area of Montreal Island called West Island. Over the past 20 years, the roles played by Brugel on television and the big screen have been numerous. Her role as Rita from the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale was her most memorable. Brugel was the sole Canadian part of the cast during the season 1 of the series and only appeared on occasion.
