Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, popularly referred to by the name Ashanti was born on 13 October 1981 in Glen Cove New York United States. She is a US singer and songwriter. The talent of Ashanti was discovered when she was a teenager. The singer signed with Murder Inc. Records, in 2002. She was featured on the Fat Joe's What's Luv? song that same year. The singer also featured on the Fat Joe's hit song"What's Luv!" as well as the Ja Rules' track Never on Time and Ja Rules track Always On Time, both of which were huge hits.
